Imagine gifting someone a bouquet that never wilts, one painted with the help of your dog!
Dip their paws in paint, stamp them into flowers, and then add stems and leaves with your brush.
Suddenly, their prints transform into golden blooms, each one unique, like a pressed flower but with personality.
It’s a cheerful way to capture paw prints that feels more like sunshine on paper than just a keepsake.
Materials Needed
- 1 sheet of thick white cardstock or canvas paper (11”×14” recommended)
- Non-toxic yellow paint (2-3 shades)
- Non-toxic brown or black paint
- Non-toxic green paint
- Paintbrush set (fine-tip for details, medium flat for stems)
- Paper towel or wipes
- Optional: blue paint for ribbon or decorative details
Step-by-step Guide
Step 1: Pour a small amount of yellow paint onto a plate. Then gently dip your dog’s paw into the paint, making sure it’s evenly coated.
Step 2: Press the paw onto the paper, lifting straight up to leave a clean print. Repeat to create several flowers across the page.
Step 3: Use a brush to paint brown or black centers in the middle of each paw print flower.
Step 4: Paint green stems connecting the flowers, adding leaves to make the bouquet look full and natural.
Step 5: Finish by painting a blue ribbon around the stems for a gift-like touch. Let it dry completely before framing or displaying.
Tip:
Try mixing shades of yellow for a more realistic, layered look, it makes your paw-print flowers pop with depth and cheer.
