Transform Your House into a Christmas Present with a Giant Bow

Transform Your House into a Christmas Present with a Giant BowA large velvet bow draped across your house front creates a sophisticated holiday statement.

The deep red fabric against winter neutrals feels both classic and luxurious, adding curb appeal that wows guests before they even step inside.

Materials Needed

  • Wide red velvet ribbon or outdoor fabric (approx. 30-40 ft depending on house size)
  • Large pre-made bow or DIY bow form (30-40 inches wide)
  • Heavy-duty outdoor adhesive hooks or nails
  • Scissors
  • Measuring tape

Step-by-step Guide

Step 1: Measure the height and width of your house front where you’d like the bow to sit.

Step 2: Cut long strips of fabric to mimic wrapping paper ribbon, securing them vertically and horizontally across the house using hooks or nails.

Step 3: Position the giant bow in the center, where the two strips intersect, for maximum impact.

Step 4: Adjust and smooth the fabric to make sure it lays flat and looks crisp.

Step 5: Step back, admire your work, and watch as your house becomes the star of the street this Christmas.

Note:

I’ve seen neighbors stop to take photos when this kind of decoration is up, it really does spread joy in the simplest, grandest way.
