How to Turn Your Pet’s Paw Print into a Festive Reindeer Ornament

The best holiday keepsakes are the ones that carry a memory, and this paw print ornament does exactly that.

Your pet’s paw becomes the face of a reindeer, antlers drawn around it, and colorful lights adding a sparkle of magic.

Every time you hang it on the tree, you’ll remember not just the season, but the little paw that left its mark on your heart.

Materials Needed

  • Plain ceramic or clay ornament (round, 3-4 inches wide)
  • Non-toxic brown paint (for paw print)
  • Red, black, yellow, green, and blue paint pens
  • Fine-tip paintbrushes
  • Ribbon or ornament hook (6-8 inches)
  • Paper towels and baby wipes

Step-by-step Guide

Step 1: Start with a plain round ceramic or clay ornament. Make sure the surface is clean and dry before you begin.

Step 2: Dip your pet’s paw gently into brown paint and press it firmly onto the ornament. This becomes the base of your reindeer face.

Step 3: Once the paw print is dry, paint on antlers extending upward, add a big red nose at the base, and use a black pen for tiny eyes.

Step 4: Decorate the antlers with colorful holiday lights, alternating bright shades for a festive pop.

Step 5: Attach a ribbon or hook to the top and let your ornament dry fully before hanging it on the tree.

Tips:

Keep a wet cloth handy to clean your pet’s paw right after stamping, it saves both your floor and your patience.

If you’re making multiple ornaments, let each one dry completely before stacking or storing.
