How to Turn an Old Chessboard Into a Unique Jewelry OrganizerOn this board, the game never ends, it transforms. The chess pieces no longer march across squares but stand as keepers of your treasures.

Pearls hang from pawns, golden chains drape from rooks, and sparkling pendants dangle from knights.

What once carried battles of the mind now carries tokens of your story, displayed proudly for both order and delight.

Materials Needed

  • 1 wooden chessboard with full set of pieces
  • Strong adhesive or screws
  • Wall-mounting hardware
  • Optional: varnish or paint

Step-by-step Guide

Step 1: Choose a sturdy chessboard, preferably wooden, so it can hold weight.

Step 2: Decide which pieces will act as hooks. Pawns and rooks are perfect for necklaces, while knights add character for chunkier jewelry.

Step 3: Attach the chess pieces securely to the board using screws or strong adhesive.

Also, leave enough spacing so chains don’t overlap too much.

Step 4: Mount the chessboard onto your wall. Position it where light can catch the sparkle of your jewelry.

Step 5: Hang your necklaces, beads, and chains, arranging them almost like chess strategies.

Step 6: Step back and admire how your jewelry display now doubles as playful wall décor.

Tips:

I love how this idea makes you look at everyday games differently.

If you’re not into chess, you can still borrow the concept with checkers or backgammon pieces for a quirky twist.
