How to Make Resin Coasters with Pressed FlowersHave you ever wished to hold onto the beauty of wildflowers just a little longer?

With resin coasters, you can. Each petal remains suspended in clarity, as though freshly picked and gently placed.

It’s a project that feels soothing to make, mixing resin, arranging flowers, waiting for the shine to set and rewarding to use, every single day.

Materials Needed

  • Pressed flowers (5-6 small blooms or petals per coaster)
  • Wood slice base (3.5”-4” diameter, 0.5” thick)
  • Epoxy resin kit (16 oz or more)
  • Measuring cups & mixing sticks
  • Heat gun or small torch
  • Disposable gloves & protective surface cover
  • Silicone mold (optional)

Step-by-step Guide

Step 1: Prepare your workspace by covering the surface with plastic or parchment. Then put on gloves to keep everything safe and clean.

Step 2: Arrange your pressed flowers on the wood slice.

You can lay with placement until it feels balanced such as bright petals in the center, smaller ones toward the edges.

Step 3: Mix your resin according to the instructions, ensuring equal parts resin and hardener. Then stir slowly to minimize bubbles.

Step 4: Pour a thin layer of resin over the wood slice, enough to cover the flowers. Next, use a stick to guide resin into edges if needed.

Step 5: Quickly run a heat gun or torch over the surface to pop any bubbles. Be gentle so you don’t scorch the resin.

Step 6: Allow the coaster to cure for 24-48 hours.

Once hardened, sand any sharp edges and enjoy your handmade floral treasure.

Tip:

You can make a matching set using different flower types like daisies, violets, or even tiny ferns for a collection that feels like a pressed garden on your table.
