How to Make Nature-Inspired Pressed Flower StonesIf you’ve ever wanted to mix your love for plants with something a little unexpected, pressed flower stones are your answer.

They’re simple, mess-free, and allow you to showcase flowers in a unique, tactile form.

Each stone becomes a tiny canvas where petals meet rock, turning ordinary pebbles into charming works of art you can hold.

Materials Needed

  • Flat river stones (3-5, approx. 3”-5” in diameter)
  • Pressed flowers of your choice (pansies, daisies, or ferns work best)
  • Mod Podge or clear-drying craft glue (8 oz bottle)
  • Small paintbrush
  • Clear acrylic spray sealer
  • Paper towels or soft cloth

Step-by-step Guide

Step 1: Clean and dry your stones to remove any dust or dirt that might prevent the flowers from sticking.

Step 2: Gently place your chosen pressed flowers on the stone, arranging them until the design feels balanced and natural.

Step 3: Using a brush, apply a thin layer of Mod Podge over the stone and press the flowers onto the surface.

You now smooth them carefully with your fingers or brush.

Step 4: Seal the top with another thin coat of Mod Podge and allow to dry completely. Repeat with a second coat if needed.

Step 5: Once dry, spray lightly with acrylic sealer to protect the flowers and give the stone a long-lasting finish.

Tip:

Try grouping several stones together with different flowers to create a garden on rock.

They look beautiful when displayed in a shallow wooden bowl or along a windowsill.
