Imagine walking into your living room and being greeted by oversized ornaments that look like they’ve just been dusted with fresh snow.
These snowy hoop ornaments bring an instant touch of elegance to your holiday décor.
Their soft, fluffy texture paired with gold stars and shimmering bows makes them feel magical, like something out of a winter fairy tale.
Materials Needed
- 2 embroidery hoops (12” or larger)
- Thick white chenille yarn (approx. 50-70 ft)
- Hot glue gun + glue sticks
- Gold or silver star ornaments (1 per hoop)
- Sprigs of faux greenery (pine, cedar, or fir)
- Decorative ribbon (2-3” wide, wired ribbon works best)
- Small pinecones or metallic berries (optional)
Step-by-step Guide
Step 1: Take your embroidery hoops and secure them together in a crisscross shape. Then use hot glue to lock them in place so they form a globe-like frame.
Step 2: Wrap the chenille yarn tightly around each hoop, covering the wood completely to give it a fluffy, snow-covered look.
Step 3: Once wrapped, attach your star ornament in the center using fishing line or twine so it hangs freely inside.
Step 4: Decorate the top of your ornament with faux greenery, a large bow, and accents like pinecones or metallic berries.
Step 5: Add a ribbon loop at the top for hanging, or let them rest as floor décor for a bold winter statement.
Tip:
I love placing two of these side by side near my fireplace—it makes the whole room feel cozier and instantly more festive.
