How to Make Beautiful Pressed Flower Candles at HomeThink of this as giving your plain candles a meadow makeover.

By pressing tiny blossoms and leaves into their sides, you’re dressing them up for the occasion.

It’s almost like the flowers are leaning in to share the flame’s secret.

Of course, the result is a one-of-a-kind candle that’s too pretty not to show off during cozy nights or festive gatherings.

Materials Needed

  • 2-3 plain white pillar or taper candles (8-10 inches tall)
  • Pressed flowers and leaves (10-15 small blooms, dried completely flat)
  • Wax paper sheet (12” × 12” size works well)
  • Hair dryer or heat gun (set on low)
  • Scissors
  • Tongs (optional)

Step-by-step Guide

Step 1: Begin with clean, smooth candles. Wipe them lightly to remove any dust so the flowers adhere better.

Step 2: Arrange your pressed flowers on the candle’s surface first without heat. Play around, scatter petals for a wild look or line them neatly for elegance.

Step 3: Place the flowers gently against the candle, then wrap the candle tightly with wax paper, keeping the flowers in place.

Step 4: Use a hair dryer on low heat and carefully warm the area.

As the wax softens, the flowers will seal into the candle. Move slowly to avoid melting the candle shape.

Step 5: Let the candle cool for a few minutes, then peel away the wax paper. The flowers should look as if they’re part of the candle itself.

Step 6: Display them as a centerpiece, on a shelf, or gift them. When lit, the petals glow faintly, creating a dreamy effect.

Tip:

You should use tiny blooms like daisies or forget-me-nots, they embed more smoothly than bulky flowers.

If you want a rustic feel, pair them with pressed herbs like rosemary or lavender for fragrance and charm.
