So Cute! Here's Way to Make An Adorable Pink Pig Propane Tank

This pig isn’t just a sculpture; it’s a character full of sass and charm. The painted lashes and bold lips give it a personality that feels almost animated.

Instead of hiding your propane tank in a shed, you’ve given it new life as a decorative showpiece.

Imagine it as a quirky guardian of your backyard or even a centerpiece for a farmhouse-inspired porch. It’s colorful, humorous, and guaranteed to start conversations.

Materials Needed

  • 1 empty propane tank (20 lb size, approx. 12” × 18”)
  • 4 steel pipes (2” diameter × 6” long)
  • 2 metal cutouts for ears (approx. 5” tall each)
  • 1 round steel plate (6” diameter)
  • 2 hex nuts (1.5”-2” across)
  • Scrap rebar or rods (6-8” pieces)
  • Welding machine & grinder
  • Pink spray paint (2 cans, outdoor enamel)
  • Purple spray paint or acrylic
  • Detail brushes and black/red acrylic paints
  • Protective gear: gloves, goggles, respirator

Step-by-step Guide

Step 1: Empty and clean your propane tank fully (fill with soapy water overnight). This ensures all fumes are gone before cutting.

Step 2: Cut 4 evenly spaced holes near the bottom for legs. Then weld in the steel pipes, angling slightly outward for stability.

Step 3: Weld the round steel plate to the front for the snout. You can use a plasma cutter to make two oval nostrils.

Step 4: Weld the nuts onto the top front area for eyes. Next, insert rebar or rod pieces above them to form long, playful lashes.

Step 5: Weld the metal ear cutouts on top at a slight angle. A small curled rod can be added to the back as a curly tail.

Step 6: Smooth all welds with a grinder, then wipe clean. Spray the entire body with 2 coats of pink paint, letting it dry between coats.

Step 7: Add accents: purple snout, ear tips, and hoofs. Finally, paint on bold red lips and black lashes with detail brushes.
