How to Make a Spooky-Cute Halloween Pom-Pom WreathEvery year, I look for new ways to decorate for Halloween without leaning too heavily on plastic decor. That’s how this pom-pom wreath became my favorite project.

There’s something magical about combining soft yarn textures with spooky spiderwebs, it feels like a mix of comfort and mystery.

As I hung it on my front door, I couldn’t help but grin at the way the fuzzy pom-poms softened the mood while the glitter and web tied everything back to Halloween’s playful spirit.

Materials Needed

  • Wire or foam wreath form (12-14” diameter)
  • Orange, black, white, and glittery yarn (enough for 25-30 pom-poms)
  • Pom-pom maker or cardboard rings
  • Black string or yarn
  • Plastic spider or Halloween embellishment
  • Hot glue gun and glue sticks
  • Scissors

Step-by-step Guide

Step 1: Wrap your black string or yarn across the center of the wreath form to create a spiderweb design. Crisscross until it looks web-like.

Step 2: Make pom-poms in different sizes using orange, black, white, and glitter yarn. Aim for about 25-30 to fully cover the wreath frame.

Step 3: Begin hot-gluing the pom-poms around the outer edge of the wreath form. You should alternate colors for a balanced, festive look.

Step 4: Once the outer ring is complete, add more pom-poms to fill in any gaps, layering for a fuller appearance.

Step 5: Glue a plastic spider (or two!) onto the web center for a spooky finishing touch.

Tips:

For extra Halloween magic, weave in a battery-operated LED string light behind the pom-poms. At night, it gives the wreath an enchanting glow.
