How to Make a Rustic Fabric Christmas Tree Wall FrameSometimes the simplest crafts turn into the most stunning décor.

This framed fabric tree artwork is a perfect mix of cozy plaid and classic holiday greenery.

The neutral burlap backdrop adds depth while the black frame gives it a polished, modern farmhouse finish.

Once complete, it looks like something you’d find in a boutique home décor shop, yet you get to say you made it yourself.

Materials Needed

  • 1 wooden frame (16”×12” size works well, with or without glass)
  • Burlap fabric (cut to fit inside frame, approx. 16”×12”)
  • Fabric scraps in plaid, green, and patterned designs (at least 6 pieces, each 6”×8”)
  • Scissors or rotary cutter
  • Hot glue gun and glue sticks
  • Small wooden star or bow (optional)
  • Felt snowflake stickers or white buttons (optional, for accents)

Step-by-step Guide

Step 1: Remove the backing and glass from your frame. Cut burlap fabric to size and secure it tightly inside the frame as your background.

Step 2: Cut your fabric scraps into simple triangle shapes, varying the sizes to mimic a forest of Christmas trees.

Step 3: Arrange the fabric triangles on the burlap until you like the layout, layering some slightly for dimension.

Step 4: Hot glue the fabric pieces in place. Press firmly so they adhere smoothly to the burlap.

Step 5: Add a star, bow, or felt snowflakes to decorate your scene. You can keep it simple or embellish as much as you like.

Step 6: Place the burlap back into the frame and secure. Hang on the wall or display as part of your holiday vignette.

Tip:

If you want a more quilted look, stitch the fabric triangles onto the burlap before framing, it adds texture and makes the trees feel extra cozy.
