If you’ve ever wished for an ornament that feels both simple and elegant, this beaded wreath is it.
The mix of natural wood and red beads captures the spirit of the season without being over the top.
Add a bow and some faux greenery, and suddenly you’ve got a decoration that looks store-bought but carries the pride of handmade.
These also make wonderful little gifts for friends and neighbors.
Materials Needed
- Wooden beads – 20 pieces, 0.6″ diameter
- Red painted beads – 10 pieces, 0.6″ diameter
- Twine – 12″ piece for threading + 6″ for hanging loop
- Faux greenery sprigs – 2-3 small pieces per wreath
- Burlap or holiday ribbon – 8″ length for each bow (1″ wide works well)
- Mini red berries or buttons – 1 per wreath
- Hot glue gun and glue sticks
- Scissors
Step-by-step Guide
Step 1: Cut a 12″ piece of twine and thread it through alternating wood and red beads until you have about 30 beads in total, forming a small circle.
Step 2: Tie the ends of the twine tightly to secure the beads into a wreath shape. Then trim any excess twine.
Step 3: Cut a 6″ piece of twine, form a loop, and tie or glue it to the top of the wreath for hanging.
Step 4: Glue a small bundle of faux greenery sprigs at the base of the loop.
Step 5: Make a bow from burlap or patterned ribbon and hot glue it over the greenery for a polished look.
Step 6: Add a small red berry, bead, or button to the center of the bow for a festive finishing touch.
Tip:
For variety, you can use gold, green, or even metallic-painted beads to create different styles that still look coordinated when hung together.
