How to Make a Festive Vase with Dried Oranges, Pinecones, and Twinkle LightsThink of this vase as a jar of captured sunlight. The bright rings of dried oranges glow like mini suns, while the pinecones rest like woodland treasures.

As the fairy lights weave through, they transform the arrangement into something magical.

Every time you switch it on, the scene whispers a reminder of winter nights, warm fires, and the charm of bringing the outdoors inside.

Materials Needed

  • 1-2 tall glass vases (10-14 inches in height)
  • 6-8 dried orange slices (approx. 2.5-3 inches each)
  • 4-6 large pinecones (3-5 inches in size)
  • 1 string of warm white fairy lights (battery-operated, 2-3 meters long)
  • Optional: sprigs of dried twigs or cinnamon sticks

Step-by-step Guide

Step 1: Begin by placing a few pinecones at the bottom of your vase to create a sturdy base.

Step 2: Insert some dried orange slices vertically against the glass so they show clearly from the outside.

Step 3: Add a few strands of fairy lights, weaving them between the pinecones and oranges as you go.

Step 4: Continue layering pinecones, oranges, and lights until the vase is filled. Make sure the light string is spread evenly to highlight every layer.

Step 5: Finish by tucking in optional twigs or cinnamon sticks for added fragrance and rustic charm.

Step 6: Turn on the lights and enjoy the cozy, glowing effect in your living space.

Tips:

If you’re making this for a holiday table, add a few star anise pods or cloves between the oranges.

They not only look beautiful but release a subtle festive scent when warmed by the lights.
