If you’re looking for an eye-catching holiday décor piece, this rolled paper Christmas tree canvas is the answer.
The varied prints of paper rolls give depth and charm, while the bow topper and button ornaments create a polished, boutique look.
Best of all, it’s lightweight, easy to display, and can be customized to match any color scheme in your home.
Materials Needed
- Canvas (12” × 16” works well)
- Assorted scrapbook or wrapping paper sheets (8–10 designs, 8.5” × 11” size)
- Buttons in red, green, and white (8-10 pieces, ½” size)
- Mini snowflake embellishments (4-5 pieces)
- Yarn or ribbon bow topper (8” length)
- Hot glue gun with glue sticks
- Scissors and ruler
Step-by-step Guide
Step 1: Cut strips of patterned paper in descending lengths (start with 10” for the base and shorten each by 1” until you reach 2-3” for the top).
Step 2: Roll each strip tightly and secure the edge with glue to form paper branches.
Step 3: Arrange the rolls on the canvas in a pyramid shape, starting from the longest at the bottom to the shortest at the top.
Step 4: Glue each roll in place, leaving space between for ornaments.
Step 5: Decorate with buttons and snowflake embellishments. Then add the ribbon bow to the top as a tree topper.
Step 6: Draw or glue a simple brown paper trunk at the bottom to finish your tree.
Tip:
If you want a 3D effect, use foam adhesive dots instead of glue to slightly raise each roll from the canvas.
