Do you remember blowing on dandelions as a child, eyes closed, whispering wishes into the air? This artwork captures that memory in a timeless way.
Pressed daisies become the stand-in for delicate dandelion seeds, frozen in mid-flight so your wish lingers a little longer.
You can see a black background makes the white petals glow, turning a simple craft into something truly magical.
Materials Needed
- 20-30 pressed daisies (choose both full flowers and separated petals)
- 1 sheet of thick black cardstock or black canvas board (A4 or 9”×12”)
- Craft tweezers
- Acid-free craft glue or Mod Podge
- Small paintbrush for glue application
- Frame (11”×14” size works well)
Step-by-step Guide
Step 1: Place your black cardstock on a flat surface. This background will make your daisies pop with striking contrast.
Step 2: Begin by arranging daisies in a circular cluster at the center to form the dandelion puff. Then overlap slightly to create a natural, fluffy effect.
Step 3: Use stems or thin strips of pressed leaves to form the stalk leading downward. Secure lightly with glue.
Step 4: Scatter a few loose daisy petals drifting upward, mimicking seeds carried by the wind. Keep the spacing varied so it feels organic.
Step 5: Once glued, let the piece dry completely before framing.
A deep-set frame helps preserve the petals and prevents flattening further.
Tip:
If you want to add extra storytelling, include a small handwritten word like “Wish” or “Dream” beneath the stem.
