Last Halloween, my living room turned into a swirl of laughter, flying bean bags, and toilet paper mummies. I had set up a few simple party games, thinking they’d be a cute extra but they stole the spotlight.

Kids were shrieking with excitement, parents joined in unexpectedly, and no one wanted the games to end. That night taught me something: the right games can make your Halloween gathering unforgettable.

So, if you’re planning a party this year and want it to feel alive , I’ve rounded up 23 hilariously fun Halloween party games that are easy to set up and guaranteed to keep everyone smiling, playing, and maybe even howling.

#1. Pumpkin Punch Board Game

Pumpkin Punch Board Game

Big, bold, and bursting with surprises, this punch board game is a Halloween hit! Designed to look like a giant jack-o’-lantern, each tissue-covered circle hides a mystery inside.

Players take turns punching through one pod to reveal candy, toys, or silly Halloween tasks. The face of the pumpkin adds visual magic, and the satisfying pop of the paper makes it wildly addictive.

It’s great for classrooms, parties, or trunk-or-treat booths where every punch brings a prize and a laugh.

Materials Needed

  • 1 large foam board or plywood sheet (36″ × 48″)
  • 60-80 plastic cups
  • Orange, black, and green tissue paper sheets (cut into 6″ squares)
  • Rubber bands or hot glue
  • Small toys, candies, or rolled notes
  • Paint or paper

Step-by-step Guide

Step 1: Arrange the cups in a pumpkin shape on the board including green for the stem, black for eyes and mouth, orange for the rest.

Step 2: Fill each cup with a prize or challenge note, then cover the top with tissue paper and secure it tightly with a rubber band.

Step 3: Hot glue each cup to the board, following the pumpkin design layout.

Step 4: Let players take turns punching through the tissue to claim their prize!

#2. Spider Web Rescue Game

Spider Web Rescue Game

It’s time to test your spider-snatching skills! This game adds a wiggly twist to Halloween fun as players use tongs to rescue plastic spiders trapped inside a giant yarn web.

The more tangled the strings, the trickier it gets, turning a simple grab-and-go into a slow, suspenseful mission.

Kids absolutely love the creepy-crawly feel, and it secretly builds fine motor skills, too. It’s low-mess, endlessly reusable, and perfect for indoor play or classroom stations.

Materials Needed

  • 1 large plastic bin or under-bed storage box (at least 20″ × 30″)
  • 40-50 small black plastic spiders
  • Orange or white yarn (about 30 ft)
  • 5-6 pairs of tongs (kid-safe and various sizes)
  • Optional: timer or score sheet

Step-by-step Guide

Step 1: Stretch and crisscross yarn over the top of the bin to mimic a chaotic spider web, securing ends with tape.

Step 2: Scatter spiders across the bottom of the bin, nestled under the yarn layers.

Step 3: Hand each player a tong and challenge them to rescue as many spiders as possible in 30 seconds without touching the yarn!

#3. Ghost Blast Nerf Game

Ghost Blast Nerf Game

If your party crowd loves action, the Ghost Blast game is going to be a smash hit. Kids grab their Nerf blasters and aim for a row of floating ghosts, made from upside-down cups with spooky little faces.

Suspended by strings, these ghosties swing and dance as darts fly, making the challenge even more fun. It’s great for energy-burning, team play, or Halloween-themed target practice indoors.

The bonus is that it’s built mostly from cardboard and recycled items you already have lying around.

Materials Needed

  • 1 large cardboard box (at least 24″ wide × 18″ tall)
  • 8-10 white plastic cups
  • Black marker or stickers
  • Yarn or string (20-30″ lengths)
  • Tape, glue, or a hole puncher
  • 1-2 Nerf guns and darts

Step-by-step Guide

Step 1: Draw ghost faces on white cups using black marker, then punch a hole in the top of each cup and tie string through.

Step 3: Create a ghost cutout to stand on top for decoration, and label the base Ghost Blast.

Step 4: Load the Nerf gun and take turns trying to knock out the ghosts and see who clears the most!

Tip: You can use colored darts to track which player hit which ghosts or assign point values to each target.

#4. Monster Mouth Mini Golf

Monster Mouth Mini Golf

This creepy (but adorable) monster is ready to chomp on golf balls and your guests will love the challenge.

With googly eyes, sharp paper teeth, and a long tongue for a putting path, this DIY mini golf game turns any hallway or classroom into a spooky sports zone.

Step 4: Set up your ball and challenge guests to send it rolling into the monster’s mouth!

#5. Pumpkin Patch Balloon Pop

Pumpkin Patch Balloon Pop

Get ready for giggles, surprises, and a few loud pops! This cheerful balloon pop game is shaped like a giant pumpkin, turning a plain wall into the center of excitement.

Inside each balloon, you can hide little treats, silly dares, or mini prizes. One by one, kids take turns popping a balloon and revealing what’s inside, it’s like a Halloween lottery with confetti!

Specially, the vibrant orange balloons and the playful pumpkin stem on top bring color and magic to your party décor, too. You’ll want your camera ready for this one.

Step 3: Add a green paper stem on top to complete the pumpkin look.
