Guide to Making Easy Paper Mummy Craft for KidsThink of this as a puzzle and art project wrapped into one. Kids get to cut, arrange, and layer bandages however they like, which means no two mummies ever look the same.

With just scissors, glue, and paper, you can make a Halloween decoration that’s equal parts creepy and adorable.

Plus, it’s simple enough that even preschoolers can join in with a little help.

Materials Needed

  • Black construction paper or pre-printed mummy silhouette
  • White paper strips (pre-cut or cut by kids)
  • Googly eyes (2 per mummy)
  • Glue stick or school glue
  • Scissors (safety scissors for children)

Step-by-step Guide

Step 1: Cut out a black silhouette of a person (or print one from a template).

Step 2: Cut white paper into strips of varying lengths to serve as bandages.

Step 3: Let kids glue the strips across the silhouette, overlapping and crisscrossing to look like wrappings.

Step 4: Add googly eyes at the top where the mummy’s face would peek out.

Step 5: Allow the craft to dry, then hang it up or add it to a Halloween card.

Tips:

You can use different colored backgrounds (purple, orange, or green) to make the mummies stand out even more.
