Embroidered Holiday Card with Tree DesignIf you love slow crafts, this stitched Christmas tree card is perfect for you.

Each needle pull through the card builds not just a tree, but also a memory in the making.

The mix of red, green, and white embroidery thread creates a classic festive look, while the kraft cardstock gives it a rustic finish.

Handmade cards like this aren’t just paper, they’re keepsakes people will treasure long after the holiday season.

Materials Needed

  • Blank kraft cardstock (5 x 7 inches works well)
  • Embroidery floss (red, green, white, and gold)
  • Embroidery needle
  • Pencil and ruler
  • Push pin or awl for pre-punching holes
  • Scissors

Step-by-step Guide

Step 1: Lightly sketch a simple triangular tree shape on your card with a pencil. Then mark small dots where your needle will go in and out along the lines.

Step 2: Use a push pin or awl to pre-punch holes along the pencil marks. This prevents the paper from tearing when you stitch.

Step 3: Thread your needle with embroidery floss and start stitching across the triangle, alternating between diagonal and straight lines to create a striped effect.

Step 4: Switch between red, green, and white floss to add festive variety. Use gold thread at the top for a little stitched star.

Step 5: Tie off the threads neatly on the back and glue an extra piece of cardstock inside to hide the stitches. Your handmade Christmas card is now ready to send with love!

Tips:

Try making a set of these in different thread colors like metallics, jewel tones, or even snowy blues for a unique holiday card collection.
