This floating tree feels like something out of a fairytale.
Suspended in mid-air, its cascading circles of greenery sparkle with golden baubles and soft candlelight. It glows gently in the corner, adding magic without overwhelming the room.
Specially, it creates the illusion of a tree without needles on the floor or bulky branches taking up space.
Materials Needed
- 3 embroidery hoops or metal rings (sizes: 12”, 16”, 20”)
- Fresh or faux greenery garland (approx. 6-8 ft)
- Gold ornaments (15-20 pieces, various sizes)
- 4-6 taper candles with holders (battery-operated recommended)
- Gold star topper (1 piece)
- Fishing line or clear string for hanging
- Hot glue gun and glue sticks
- Optional: extra ribbon or eucalyptus sprigs
Step-by-step Guide
Step 1: Wrap each hoop with greenery garland, securing it with hot glue or floral wire until completely covered.
Step 2: Attach candle holders evenly around the rings. If using real candles, be mindful of safety, battery-operated ones are ideal.
Step 3: Suspend the largest hoop at the bottom, then the medium, then the smallest, stacking them into a tree-like shape using fishing line.
Step 4: Hang gold ornaments from the rings, staggering the heights for dimension.
Step 5: Top the arrangement with a gold star using fishing line for a floating effect.
Step 6: Light your candles (or switch on your LED ones) and enjoy the ethereal glow.
Tip:
You can place this in a corner to highlight the tree shape and keep it safe from foot traffic.
