Build a Spooky Skeleton Ferris Wheel from PVC PipesImagine pulling up to a Halloween carnival where laughter has long since faded, yet the Ferris wheel still turns.

With skeletons perched in bright orange crates and the creak of PVC joints in the wind, it feels like a ride trapped between worlds.

You’ll love the way it dominates your yard, towering in spooky elegance.

And when lit from below, those bony passengers look like they’re enjoying the afterlife’s best amusement ride.

Materials Needed

  • 1-inch PVC pipes (approx. 60 feet total)
  • PVC elbows and tees (about 30 pieces)
  • 2 wooden beams (4×4, 8 feet long)
  • 6-8 plastic crates (12″x12″)
  • Plastic skeletons or Halloween props
  • Zip ties and screws
  • Drill and PVC cutter
  • LED strip lights (optional)

Step-by-step Guide

Step 1: Build a large circular frame using PVC pipes, connecting each joint securely with tees and elbows.

Step 2: Construct a stable wooden base with 4×4 posts to hold the wheel upright.

Step 3: Attach the wheel to the center post using a sturdy bolt or rotating axle if you want it to spin.

Step 4: Zip-tie crates to the PVC ring evenly around the circle and secure skeletons in each seat.

Step 5: Add LED lights or glow paint for a nighttime effect that makes your haunted Ferris wheel look alive.

Tips:

You can use lightweight materials for safety and stability, and anchor the base with sandbags or stakes if it’s windy in your area.
