I’m sure you’ve experienced the frustration of seeing your plants plagued by fungal infections, causing unsightly spots and stunted growth.

Fungal diseases can quickly spread, leaving your garden looking less vibrant and healthy.

Fortunately, there’s a simple, effective mixture that can help you combat these persistent issues.

Ingredients You Need

  • 1 tablespoon of baking soda
  • 1 gallon of water
  • 1 teaspoon of mild liquid soap (optional, for better adherence)

Instructions

First, grab a clean container that can hold at least a gallon of liquid, then pour in the gallon of water. I usually use room temperature water because it helps the ingredients mix better.

Next, add the tablespoon of baking soda to the water. Stir it well until the baking soda is completely dissolved.

Now, if you want the mixture to stick to the plant leaves better, add a teaspoon of mild liquid soap.

Once everything is mixed, pour the solution into a spray bottle.

When you’re ready to treat your plants, spray the mixture evenly over the leaves, making sure to cover both the top and bottom.

Why This Mixture Works

Baking soda is a powerhouse when it comes to fighting fungi. It creates an alkaline environment on the plant’s surface, which is something fungi absolutely hate.

Fungi thrive in acidic conditions, so when you apply a baking soda solution, it disrupts their ability to grow and spread.

Besides, the soap acts as a surfactant, which means it helps the baking soda solution stick to the plant’s leaves more effectively.

Plus, the soap can help break down the fungal cell walls, making it easier for the baking soda to do its job.
