Create a Spooky PVC Ghost Tunnel for Your Halloween WalkwayPicture a soft fog rolling across your yard as pale lights flicker beneath a curtain of drifting fabric.

The PVC ghost tunnel feels alive, whispering with every breeze.

You’ll build it by bending flexible PVC ribs into arches and covering them with ghost-white fabric that moves like mist.

When you step inside, the tunnel seems to hum with Halloween energy, a mix of light, shadow, and imagination.

Materials Needed

  • 10-12 PVC pipes (¾” diameter, each 3-4 feet long)
  • 6 PVC elbows and 6 tees for connecting arches
  • White sheer fabric or cheesecloth (10-12 yards)
  • LED string lights or fairy lights (20-30 feet)
  • Plastic ground stakes (6-8 pieces)
  • Zip ties and duct tape
  • Optional: fog machine

Step-by-step Guide

Step 1: Mark the pathway you want your tunnel to cover, about 8-10 feet long works best for walkways.

Step 2: Cut your PVC pipes and connect them with elbows and tees to form several arches.

You should space the arches 2 feet apart and secure them into the ground with stakes.

Step 3: Attach crossbars between the arches to add stability. Then use zip ties or tape to hold everything firmly.

Step 4: Drape the white fabric or cheesecloth loosely over the structure, letting it hang in folds for a floating, haunted look.

Step 5: Weave LED lights inside the tunnel, focusing on upper edges for soft illumination.

Step 6: Test it at night, you’ll see an ethereal glow that makes your Halloween walkway come alive.

Tips:

For an extra eerie touch, place a fog machine at one end so mist spills through the tunnel, creating the perfect ghostly illusion.
