Create a Creepy Pumpkin Creature with Expanding FoamIt starts innocent, a hollow pumpkin, a can of foam, a wild idea. Then, slowly, a creature takes form

Its face twists into a jagged grin, foam dripping like candle wax.

Standing there in your garage, this strange pumpkin monster seems to stare back at you, daring you to finish what you started.

By the time you add legs, old shoes, and a coat of dark paint, it looks alive enough to walk off into the night.

Materials Needed

  • 1 plastic pumpkin head (8-10 inches wide)
  • 1 can expanding spray foam
  • 2 short PVC pipes (¾-inch diameter, about 1.5 ft each)
  • Old pair of shoes or slippers
  • Protective gloves and drop cloth
  • Spray paint (orange, black, green, and white)
  • Utility knife or craft knife
  • Battery-operated tealight (optional)

Step-by-step Guide

Step 1: Place your pumpkin on a drop cloth and apply expanding foam around the face and base, let it build naturally for that dripping, creepy look.

Step 2: Insert two PVC legs into the foam before it sets, securing them upright with shoes at the base.

Step 3: Let the foam cure for several hours, then use a craft knife to refine any areas or open the mouth wider.

Step 4: Spray-paint the monster with a mix of orange, green, and black for a sinister finish.

Step 5: Add a tealight inside the pumpkin for a faint glow that brings your creature eerily to life.

Tips:

To make it look even more organic, add small sticks or fabric scraps into the foam before it dries, it’ll look like veins or tendrils sprouting from its body.
