How to Turn Autumn Leaves into Playful Confetti ArtGot a pile of autumn leaves? Don’t just toss them, turn them into a confetti wonderland!

By hole-punching bright leaves, you create charming patterns and a pile of natural confetti all at once.

Glue them to paper, scatter the dots around, and you’ve got a handmade piece of art that looks both polished and playful.

Plus, every leaf brings its own surprise of color and texture.

Materials Needed

  • 8–10 dried autumn leaves (medium size, approx. 4–6 inches long)
  • 1 standard hole punch (¼ inch punch works well)
  • 1 sheet of white cardstock or art paper (A4 size)
  • Craft glue or glue stick
  • Small paintbrush (optional, for spreading glue evenly)
  • Paper towel or scrap paper

Step-by-step Guide

Step 1: Collect medium-sized leaves that are dried but still flexible. Avoid brittle ones as they’ll crumble when punched.

Step 2: Use a hole punch to make even rows of dots through each leaf. Save both the punched leaves and the tiny confetti dots you’ve created.

Step 3: Arrange the leaves in a row on your cardstock, mixing colors for contrast. Think of it like planting a rainbow garden across the page.

Step 4: Glue the leaves onto the paper, pressing them down gently with your fingers or a clean cloth.

Step 5: Take the confetti pieces and scatter them across the bottom or in the background.

Next, secure with tiny dots of glue. This adds depth and a sense of movement to your design.

Step 6: Let it dry fully, then frame your art or use it as a handmade card to brighten someone’s day.

Tips:

Try layering leaves of different shapes or overlapping a few for a fuller effect.

You can also punch stars or hearts instead of circles if you want extra charm.
