How to Create Vintage-Style Pressed Flower Frames for Timeless CharmYou don’t need a museum to keep your flowers alive, just a frame and a bit of imagination.

With a few dried flowers and pages from an old book, you can craft wall art that feels nostalgic and meaningful.

Every time you glance at it, you’ll see not just a flower, but a small piece of history preserved in paper and glass.

Materials Needed

  • Pressed flowers (daisies, wildflowers, or meadow blooms work best)
  • Frames (wooden or antique-style, 5”×7” or 8”×10”)
  • Old book pages or sheet music
  • Scissors
  • Glue stick or acid-free adhesive tape
  • Optional: handwritten notes, stamps, or wax seals for extra detail

Step-by-step Guide

Step 1: Select flowers that press flat and keep their color well. Wildflowers and small blossoms work beautifully for this vintage look.

Step 2: Cut your chosen background page to fit the frame. Torn edges add character if you want a rustic finish.

Step 3: Arrange your pressed flowers on the paper until the balance feels right.

Think of it like painting, each petal and stem adds brushstrokes to the scene.

Step 4: Secure the flowers with a thin layer of glue or adhesive tape. Be gentle as pressed petals are fragile like parchment.

Step 5: Place the paper into your frame and close it tightly. If using a shadowbox, you can layer multiple flowers for depth.

Step 6: Display your frame in a reading nook, hallway, or above a desk where it will catch warm light.

Tip:

For an authentic vintage touch, add a wax seal, stamp, or small handwritten date in the corner. It turns your frame into a piece of living history.
