Look at this hanging hoop! It captures that dream, with strands of baubles cascading from the frame like a festive waterfall.
A large red ornament anchors the center, while smaller ones dangle in motion all around it.
At night, the illuminated hoop makes it glow like a celestial ring, giving your room a gallery-like touch.
It feels modern, minimal, yet still rich in holiday spirit, a true conversation starter.
Materials Needed
- 2-3 LED light hoops (12”-16” diameter)
- 1 large ornament per hoop (5”-6” diameter, red or metallic)
- 30-40 small ornaments (1”-2” red baubles + 20 white foam balls)
- Clear fishing line or transparent string (15-20 ft)
- Hot glue gun and glue sticks
- Scissors
- Ceiling hooks or adhesive hanging hooks
Step-by-step Guide
Step 1: Start by securing your LED hoop so it hangs flat against a wall or window. Make sure it’s centered and stable.
Step 2: Hang a large ornament from the center of the hoop with clear fishing line. Then adjust the length so it sits just inside the ring.
Step 3: Cut fishing line into varying lengths (6”-18”) for your cascading strands.
You now thread small baubles and foam balls onto each line, knotting them at intervals so they look like falling snow and ornaments.
Step 4: Attach the strands along the bottom half of the hoop, spacing them evenly. Let some hang lower for a layered effect.
Step 5: Add extra baubles closer to the hoop for fullness. Keep a balance of red and white for that snowy, modern contrast.
Step 6: Once complete, step back and adjust the strands until they fall naturally like a cascading curtain.
Tip:
Use multiple hoops at staggered heights for a dramatic installation that fills a wall or large window, it looks stunning day and night.
