Imagine sitting at the table, golden light flickering off glasses, gifts tucked beneath plates, and above it all hangs this beautiful globe.
The beads give texture, the ribbon ties it together, and the greenery adds a natural note.
It doesn’t try too hard, yet it transforms the room with its quiet presence.
This is the kind of decoration that feels both homemade and timeless, a perfect centerpiece for moments you’ll remember long after the season ends.
Materials Needed
- 3-4 wooden embroidery hoops (10”-14” diameter)
- Wooden beads (approx. 50-60, 1” size, pre-drilled)
- 1 sprig of faux or fresh evergreen (10”-12” long)
- 1 decorative ribbon bow (6”-8” wide, ivory or gold)
- Hot glue gun and glue sticks
- Floral wire and scissors
- Strong twine or fishing line
Step-by-step Guide
Step 1: Slide wooden beads onto the embroidery hoops. Then fill them completely to create a textured look, then glue the ends to keep beads from slipping.
Step 2: Assemble the hoops into a globe shape, intersecting them at right angles. Secure with hot glue where they cross at the top and bottom.
Step 3: Wrap floral wire tightly around the intersections to reinforce the structure. Let the glue dry completely before moving on.
Step 4: Add a sprig of evergreen near the top of the globe and secure with wire.
Make sure some greenery drapes naturally to keep it soft and organic.
Step 5: Glue or tie a ribbon bow just above the greenery to cover the wire and add a polished finish.
Step 6: Hang your globe over a dining table, entryway, or window using twine or fishing line. Step back and adjust the greenery for balance.
Tip:
Spray-paint the beads in gold or silver before assembling if you want a more glamorous look for New Year’s celebrations.
