Reading Time: 2 mins read

Handmade Felt Corner Bookmarks with Embroidered BloomsThese bookmarks are more than placeholders; they’re stitched memories.

Each flower embroidered on the felt looks like it bloomed just for your story, holding onto words like pressed blossoms in a journal.

The gentle contrast of felt colors and hand-stitched borders adds a crafted warmth.

Moreover, it’s the kind of detail that makes reading feel personal and cherished like each chapter is decorated with a secret garden only you can see.

Materials Needed

  • Felt sheets in assorted colors (9″×12″)
  • Embroidery thread (6-strand, various colors for flowers and leaves)
  • Embroidery needle (size 7-9)
  • Scissors
  • Fabric glue or needle and thread for assembling
  • Ruler and pencil/chalk for measuring

Step-by-step Guide

Step 1: Cut two felt squares, each 3.5″×3.5″. Slice one square diagonally to create two triangles.

Step 2: Take one felt triangle and use embroidery thread to stitch floral patterns like oses, daisies, or leaves on the front side.

Then keep your stitches neat and secure at the back.

Step 3: Layer the embroidered triangle over one full square, aligning edges neatly.

Then place the second plain triangle on the opposite side to form a pocket corner.

Step 4: Use blanket stitch or whip stitch around the edges to secure all layers together.

Step 5: Trim any loose threads and slide the bookmark onto a page corner to test the fit.

Tips:

You can use contrasting thread for the border to make your stitches stand out.

These look especially beautiful when you create sets in seasonal colors such as reds and golds for fall, pastels for spring.
