There’s something magical about black-and-white designs with just a hint of sparkle.
This paper garland combines charming snowmen and evergreen silhouettes outlined in bold lines, with glitter accents for that winter shimmer.
It’s clean, modern, yet whimsical enough for any Christmas setting.
Best of all, you can create as many pieces as you like to fit your space perfectly.
Materials Needed
- White cardstock paper (8.5”×11” sheets, at least 5)
- Black glitter foam sheets (1 sheet for hats)
- Orange cardstock or foam (small piece for noses)
- Silver glitter foam or stickers (1 sheet, cut into rectangles for snowflakes)
- Black marker or pen (fine tip for outlines and details)
- Scissors
- Glue stick or craft glue
- Hole punch
- White string or thin twine (6-8 ft)
Step-by-step Guide
Step 1: On white cardstock, draw snowman shapes about 5” tall and tree shapes about 6” tall. Then cut out 6-8 of each.
Step 2: Outline each cutout with a black marker for bold definition. You now add buttons, smiles, and twig arms to the snowmen.
Step 3: Cut small hats from black glitter foam (about 1.5”×2”) and glue them on top of each snowman’s head. Add orange triangles as carrot noses.
Step 4: For the trees, glue silver glitter rectangles randomly across as snowflakes or ornaments.
Step 5: Punch a hole at the top of each cutout. Thread them onto a long piece of string, alternating snowman and tree.
Step 6: Hang across a mantel, door, or wall for an instant festive touch.
Notes:
You can also laminate the pieces after decorating to reuse the garland for years without damage.
