Think of these trees as little spirals of holiday joy. As you wind the rope around each cone, it feels like you’re wrapping your home in coziness.
With just a few embellishments like lace, beads, or greenery, you can make each one unique.
Set them as a group on your coffee table or line them along a windowsill, and suddenly your space feels like a Christmas display straight out of a storybook.
Materials Needed
- 3-6 foam or cardboard cones (sizes: 6″, 9″, and 12″ tall for variety)
- Rope or twisted cord (3-5 mm thick, about 8-10 yards per tree depending on size)
- Hot glue gun with 8-10 glue sticks
- Decorative lace trim (2-3 yards)
- Red and white pearl beads (8-10 mm, pack of 50)
- Small faux greenery or ribbon (1-2 yards)
- Mini toppers (wooden hearts, beads, or small stars, 1-2 inches each)
- Scissors
Step-by-step Guide
Step 1: Start with a foam or cardboard cone. Secure the end of your rope at the base using a dab of hot glue.
Step 2: Wrap the rope tightly around the cone, adding small dots of hot glue every few inches to hold it in place. Keep winding until you reach the tip of the cone.
Step 3: Once covered, decorate your tree with lace strips spiraled around it, or glue on beads and faux greenery for extra charm.
Step 4: Attach a small topper like a heart or star with hot glue to finish it off.
Step 5: Repeat the process with different cone sizes and colors of rope to create a festive grouping.
Tips:
For a more luxurious finish, choose metallic gold or silver rope.
If you prefer a rustic style, go with natural jute twine and add wooden bead accents.
