How to Craft a Simple Yet Memorable Thank You Card with CitrusSometimes the most powerful gestures come in the simplest form.

This thank you card, with its bright orange slice and twine loop, feels like a small piece of sunshine gifted on paper.

The contrast of white cardstock and vibrant citrus makes it stand out, yet its charm lies in its handmade authenticity.

Materials Needed

  • Blank white cardstock or premade card (5×7 inches)
  • 1 dried orange slice (2-2.5 inches wide)
  • 8-10 inches of natural jute twine
  • Hole punch or craft knife
  • Scissors
  • Glue stick or double-sided tape (optional for securing slice)
  • Alphabet stamp or printed “Thank You” label

Step-by-step Guide

Step 1: Fold your cardstock in half if you’re starting with a flat sheet. Make sure the edges align neatly.

Step 2: Use a hole punch or craft knife to create two small slits at the top of the card, about 1.5 inches apart. These will hold the twine.

Step 3: Cut a piece of twine 8-10 inches long. Then thread both ends through the slits so the loop hangs down on the front of the card.

Step 4: Tie the twine ends together on the inside of the card, making sure the loop is secure but not too tight.

Step 5: Slide the dried orange slice into the loop so it hangs flat in the center of the card.

If needed, add a tiny dab of double-sided tape or glue behind the slice to keep it steady.

Step 6: Stamp or attach your “Thank You” label neatly at the bottom of the card.

Step 7: Write your personal message inside, and your handmade thank you card is ready to share.

Tips:

You can swap “Thank You” for other phrases like “Happy Holidays” or “With Love” to adapt this design for different occasions.

Adding a sprig of rosemary or a mini cinnamon stick beside the orange slice also elevates the card beautifully.
