Collecting pinecones on a crisp autumn walk and turning them into a radiant bouquet feels like bottling up the season itself.
The warm shades of painted cones echo the colors of fallen leaves and glowing sunsets.
Displayed on a dining table or entryway, this bouquet greets your guests with natural beauty and a little handmade magic.
Materials Needed
- 20-25 pinecones (medium to large, about 3-5” each)
- Acrylic paints (red, orange, yellow, gold)
- Foam brushes or small paintbrushes
- Wooden skewers or floral sticks (12-14” long)
- Hot glue gun with glue sticks
- Tall glass vase or jar
Step-by-step Guide
Step 1: Clean your pinecones by shaking off debris and letting them dry fully if collected outside.
Step 2: Attach each pinecone to a wooden skewer or floral stick with hot glue. Let them set firmly.
Step 3: Paint the cones with bright autumn colors, blending shades for a more natural look. Then allow them to dry completely.
Step 4: Fill a tall vase with a few unpainted pinecones at the base to anchor the stems.
Step 5: Arrange the painted pinecone flowers in the vase, spreading out the colors for balance.
Notes:
If you’d like a little sparkle, brush the cone tips with metallic gold paint or glitter before placing them in the vase.
