Here’s a craft that children and adults alike will enjoy. Yogurt jars become whimsical snowmen with the help of textured paint, googly eyes, and pom-pom earmuffs.
These jars look wonderful holding candy canes, tealights, or simply standing proud as part of your holiday décor.
I bet every time you glance at one, it’ll remind you of the season’s magic.
Materials Needed
- 1 yogurt jar (3″ tall × 2.5″ wide)
- White textured paint (1 small bottle, ~4 oz)
- 1 orange felt triangle (1.5″ long)
- 2 googly eyes (¾” diameter)
- Black acrylic paint or permanent marker
- 1 red & white striped pipe cleaner (6″ long)
- 2 red pom-poms (1″ size)
- Hot glue gun + 2 glue sticks
Step-by-step Guide
Step 1: Clean your yogurt jar thoroughly and let it dry.
Step 2: Coat the jar with textured white paint to give it a snowy, frosty look. Let it dry completely.
Step 3: Glue on two googly eyes and an orange felt triangle for the snowman’s nose.
Step 4: Use black paint or a marker to make a dotted smile under the nose.
Step 5: Bend the striped pipe cleaner into an arc and glue it to the sides of the jar. Then attach a pom-pom to each end to create earmuffs.
Step 6: Fill your jar with candy, tealights, or leave it empty as a charming holiday display piece.
Tips:
For a glowing effect, place a battery-operated tealight inside. The soft light shining through will make your snowman look alive in the coziest way.
