Imagine curling up in your living room, the lights dimmed, and seeing your favorite moments illuminated as though the moon itself is holding them.
This project has a gentle warmth, part nightlight, part photo display, part work of art.
It’s the perfect mix of sentimental and stylish, and it makes you pause for a second to whisper, “Yes, these are the memories I want to keep glowing.”
Materials Needed
- 1 crescent moon photo lamp base (approx. 12” tall, with glass orb included)
- 6-8 printed mini photos (around 2” × 3” each)
- 1 string of warm LED fairy lights (battery-operated, 5 ft long)
- Clear double-sided tape or photo adhesive (1 roll)
- Small scissors for trimming photos
- Optional: faux flowers, metallic stickers, or small charms
Step-by-step Guide
Step 1: Start by choosing the photos you’d like to display. Opt for snapshots that capture emotions like a hug, a laugh, or a candid smile since they’ll glow beautifully once lit.
You next trim them to fit the curve of the moon without overlapping too much.
Step 2: Use double-sided tape or adhesive to carefully line the inner curve of the crescent with your photos.
Then press each one firmly so it sits flush against the frame. Arrange them so the faces follow the arc naturally, almost like a story unfolding as your eye travels along the moon.
Step 3: Wrap a thin strand of fairy lights around the moon’s outline, tucking the wire behind the photos whenever possible.
Let a few lights cascade softly into the glass orb so it resembles a glowing planet. Then secure the lights with tiny dabs of tape if needed.
Step 4: Place the lamp on a shelf, bedside table, or entryway console.
Once switched on, the photos come alive with a golden glow, creating a soothing ambiance perfect for evenings or quiet moments of reflection.
Step 5: Add a personal touch with optional decorations such as a sprig of faux greenery around the base, metallic stars, or small charms. These extras can make your lamp feel even more like a one-of-a-kind keepsake.
Tips: Use matte-finish photos instead of glossy ones; they diffuse the light better and reduce glare.
