Full Guide on Making Embroidery Hoop Wall Organize for Beginners

If you’re looking for a creative way to organize small items, this embroidery hoop organizer is the answer. It takes less than an hour to make, yet the finished piece looks like something you’d buy from a boutique.

The design is simple: a patterned fabric for the backdrop, topped with a folded fabric pocket to hold supplies.

Plus, you can even make a set in different sizes and fabrics to keep your workspace neat while adding personality to your walls.

Materials Needed

  • 1 embroidery hoop (10″-12″)
  • 1 piece of fabric (cut 3″ larger than the hoop)
  • 1 piece of fabric (cut the same width as the hoop, height about half)
  • Fabric scissors
  • Iron
  • Hot glue or fabric glue (optional)
  • Needle and thread (optional)

Step-by-step Guide

Step 1: Cut your background fabric so it extends at least 2–3″ beyond the embroidery hoop edges. This extra fabric will help keep it secure.

Step 2: Cut your pocket fabric to the same width as the hoop, but only about half the height. Also, iron the top edge of the pocket piece so it looks neat and crisp.

Step 3: Place the pocket fabric on top of the background fabric, aligning the bottom edges. If you’d like, stitch or glue the sides of the pocket to the background to hold it in place.

Step 4: Loosen the hoop and sandwich both fabrics between the inner and outer rings. Then pull them taut so there are no wrinkles, adjusting the pocket so it sits evenly.

Step 5: Trim any excess fabric at the back of the hoop, leaving about 1″ to fold neatly under the ring. Secure with glue or a quick hem stitch if needed.

Step 6: Hang the organizer on your wall and fill the pocket with small supplies like scissors, pens, brushes, or even notes.

Tip: You can make multiple organizers in coordinating fabrics to create a whole wall of functional art. They’re especially handy in craft rooms, home offices, or kids’ study spaces.
