Materials

  • 6 toilet paper rolls (10 cm each)
  • Cardboard sheets (20x30 cm)
  • Hot glue gun and 4 glue sticks
  • Craft knife or scissors
  • Brown and beige acrylic paint (50 ml each)
  • Paintbrush set (medium and fine)
  • Pencil and ruler
  • Decorative pebbles, twigs, or straw

Instructions

  • Start by forming the base and walls of the cottage using toilet paper rolls. Then cut and glue them together to create the main body of the house. Reinforce with cardboard for sturdiness.
  • Use thin strips of cardboard to make roof shingles, layer them piece by piece for a realistic effect. Paint in natural tones once dry.
  • Cut out a small door and circular window, then glue pebbles or small cardboard stones around the doorway for a rustic look.
  • Build a tiny porch using leftover cardboard and glue small sticks as railings. You attach chicken-foot-shaped supports or leave it as a grounded cottage.
  • Paint the details such as roof, walls, door and lightly brush the edges with a dry brush for depth. Once complete, let it dry completely before displaying your handcrafted fairy cottage. It’s a miniature masterpiece that radiates cozy woodland magic.
