Materials

  • 3-4 toilet paper rolls (10 cm each)
  • White acrylic marker or paint pen (2 mm tip)
  • Twine or baker’s string (50 cm per tag)
  • Hole punch
  • Scissors
  • Pencil for sketching

Instructions

  • Flatten each roll gently and cut into rectangular pieces. Then shape the top edges into triangles, house shapes, or rounded tag ends, depending on your style. Each piece should measure roughly 7 × 10 cm.
  • Use a hole punch to make a small hole near the top for threading your string later.
  • Draw your designs using the white acrylic marker, outline windows, doors, scalloped roofs, or snowflake patterns. You can add dots and borders for a gingerbread-style effect.
  • Thread baker’s twine through each hole and tie a loop for hanging.
  • Let the ink dry completely before attaching the tags to wrapped gifts or homemade goodies.
