Materials

  • Watercolor paper or thick cardstock (A5 folded into A6)
  • Round watercolor brush (size 4–6)
  • Fine-tip black pen (0.3–0.5 mm)
  • Water cup
  • Paper towel
  • Pencil for light sketching
  • Watercolor palette (reds, pinks, optional peach tones)

Instructions

  • Fold your watercolor paper in half to create the card base. Keep the surface clean and dry before painting.
  • Lightly sketch two hearts about 4–5 cm wide each, leaving space between them for hands to meet in the middle.
  • Mix red and pink watercolor shades, then paint each heart with a single smooth layer. Then add more pigment around the edges if you want a soft gradient.
  • Let the hearts dry completely. A paper towel can help lift any puddles to keep the color even.
  • Use a fine black pen to draw simple faces, tiny arms reaching toward each other, and small legs. Now you can add a little dot for rosy cheeks if you like.
