Materials

  • Cardstock in pink, white, or pastel colors (A5 or A4 sheets)
  • Scrapbook paper or patterned paper (8 × 8 in)
  • Satin ribbon (3–5 mm width, 20–30 cm per card)
  • Paper doilies (4–6 in diameter) or lace trim (30–40 cm)
  • Ruffled ribbon or pleated trim (25–35 cm)
  • Pearl stickers (3–5 mm size)
  • Scissors
  • Craft glue or hot glue gun
  • Colored pencils or markers
  • Heart stencil or cookie cutter (8–12 cm heart shape)

Instructions

  • Cut a large heart (about 12–15 cm wide) from cardstock. For a folding card, fold the paper first and cut the heart so the fold stays intact.
  • Glue a 4–6 in paper doily or lace trim around the edges so it slightly overlaps the border. Let it dry flat.
  • Cut a second heart (10–12 cm) from patterned paper or another pastel sheet. Glue it centered on top of the lace layer.
  • Add a focal detail: draw small illustrations, glue a tiny ribbon bow, or layer another mini heart with lace. Keep decoration soft and simple.
  • Place pearl stickers along the border or around the smaller heart for texture. Next, add soft shading or tiny doodles using colored pencils.
  • Trim any excess lace, check edges, and smooth down glue spots. Then add optional backing for extra sturdiness.
