Flatten your coffee filters and place them on a protected surface. Then use red, yellow, and orange paint to cover each one in swirls and dabs, don’t overthink it, just let the colors blend naturally.
Let the filters dry completely. The paint will soften and spread as it dries, creating that beautiful, leafy effect.
While they dry, cut out tree trunk shapes from black paper, wide at the bottom and branching toward the top.
Once the filters are dry, glue a trunk shape in the center of each painted circle. Adjust it so the branches stretch into the leaves.
Hang your finished trees on a wall or window. Together, they make a warm, cheerful fall display that feels just like walking through an autumn park.
