Flatten the coffee filters and color them with shades of purple, gray, and green using markers or watercolor paint. Mist lightly with water to blend the colors into a soft, marbled look. Let them dry completely.
Once dry, fold each filter accordion-style, then pinch it in the middle to form two wings.
Clip the folded filter with a black clothespin to create the bat’s body. Then adjust the wings so they spread evenly on both sides.
Use a white paint pen or glue on googly eyes to give your bat a playful face.
For added flair, cut out traditional bat shapes from black craft paper to mix with your coffee filter bats on walls or windows.
