Materials

  • Wooden craft sticks (6-inch size)
  • White coffee filters (1–2 per doll)
  • Washable markers or watercolor paint
  • Spray bottle with water
  • Safety scissors
  • Glue stick or tacky glue
  • Fine-tip black and red markers (for face details)
  • Small stickers, washi tape, or ribbon scraps for decoration

Instructions

  • Flatten the coffee filters and color them with markers or watercolor paint in bright shades. Lightly spray with water to blend the colors and create a tie-dye look. Let them dry completely.
  • Once dry, cut the filters into circles or semicircles, then fold them accordion-style to form a layered skirt.
  • Glue or tape the skirt around the lower half of a wooden stick to make the doll’s dress. Add another layer for fullness if you like.
  • Use markers to draw a face, hair, and small accessories on the upper part of the stick.
  • Decorate the dress with stickers, ribbon, or tiny dots of glitter for extra flair.
  • Let everything dry, then use your dolls for puppet shows, wall art, or just as cheerful keepsakes of a fun afternoon.
