Cut six to eight pieces of macrame cord, each around 18-20 inches long. Fold each cord in half and attach it to the cinnamon stick using a lark’s head knot (looping through the fold). You then adjust them evenly along the stick.
Begin tying square knots with the middle cords, creating a V-shape or diamond pattern as you go down. You can make it as long or as short as you’d like.
Once the main knots are complete, trim the lower cords to your preferred length, either straight across or in a soft inverted triangle for a finished look.
Optionally, use a comb or your fingers to fray the bottom ends slightly, it gives the wall hanging a relaxed, boho texture.
Cut a small piece of twine and tie it to both ends of the cinnamon stick to create a loop for hanging. Make sure it’s balanced and centered.
Finally, hang your finished piece on a wall, door handle, or even the Christmas tree to enjoy its natural scent and handmade charm.
