Materials Needed

• 3-4 clear plastic or glass fillable ornaments (3” size works well)
• 1/4 cup dried lavender buds
• 1/4 cup dried chamomile flowers
• 1/4 cup mini rosebuds or petals
• 2–3 cinnamon sticks (broken into smaller pieces)
• 2 tbsp dried rosemary or pine needles
• Wax beads (red, black, or gold)
• Twine or ribbon (12” per ornament)
• Small charms (optional)

Step-by-step Guide

Step 1: Open your clear ornaments and decide which herb or spice blend you’d like to use. I usually combine one floral, one woody, and one spice for balance.

Step 2: Layer the herbs gently into the ornament.

For example: lavender, then cinnamon, then a sprinkle of rose petals. Don’t pack them too tightly as it looks prettier when the ingredients move slightly.

Step 3: Close the ornament securely. If you’re using wax seals, melt the beads carefully and drip around the top. Let it cool for a rustic, sealed finish.

Step 4: Add twine or ribbon through the ornament loop for hanging. You can tie a small charm or bell for extra detail.

Step 5: Hang on your Christmas tree or gift them in a little box lined with tissue. They’re beautiful both as décor and as a keepsake that lasts for years.

Note:

I’ve found that rosemary and chamomile keep their scent the longest, while rosebuds add that soft pop of color.
