Who knew an old book could turn into a pumpkin centerpiece?
With just a little cutting, folding, and gluing, those pages suddenly transform into something magical.
Next, add a stick for the stem, tuck in some faux greenery, and youβve got a pumpkin that never rots and always tells a story.
This project is playful, unexpected, and perfect for book lovers who want to mix a little imagination into their Thanksgiving dΓ©cor.
Step 1: Open the book and remove the cover. Draw a half-pumpkin shape along the edge of the pages, from top to bottom.
Step 2: Use scissors or a craft knife to carefully cut along the outline. This may take a few pages at a time until the whole book is trimmed.
Step 3: Fan out the pages into a full circle. Use hot glue along the spine edges to secure them into a round pumpkin form.
Step 4: Glue a stick in the center for the stem. Let it sit firmly before adding decorations.
Step 5: Finally, embellish with faux leaves, small flowers, or ribbon around the stem to complete the look.
Tips:
To give the pages more depth, lightly brush the edges with orange or gold paint before fanning them out. It adds warmth and makes the pumpkin shape pop beautifully.
