Step-by-step Guide

Step 1: Break down your pallet planks and sand each piece smooth.

Step 2: Cut your boards into lengths suitable for star points, around 36” for a large star, adjusting if you want smaller nested stars inside.

Step 3: Use a miter saw to cut each end at a 36° angle so they join neatly. Five boards will form one complete star.

Step 4: Arrange the five points into a star shape on the ground. Secure each joint with wood glue, then fasten with screws for stability.

Step 5: Repeat with shorter boards if you want to layer a smaller star inside for dimension.

Step 6: Once assembled, sand edges and finish with paint, stain, or a sealant. If placing outdoors, add an outdoor protective coating.
