Using a few PVC pipes and expanding foam, you can sculpt a massive carnivorous plant that looks both surreal and playful.
Its twisted shape and bold colors stand out beautifully among real foliage, especially when sunlight hits the glossy paint.
Step 1: Create the curved stem using PVC pipe. Heat and bend it slightly to give a natural arching shape.
You now connect pieces with elbows and glue for stability.
Step 2: Form the plantβs head using chicken wire. Shape it into an open mouth, around 2 feet wide works great for proportion. Then attach it to the top of the PVC stem.
Step 3: Spray expanding foam over the wire mesh to create texture. Let it dry, then trim off any excess with a utility knife.
Step 4: Paint the mouth interior red and the outer layer green.
You can use black for shading and depth. Once dry, glue foam teeth around the edges.
Step 5: Anchor the PVC base into the ground or a large pot for support. Then add leaves or fake vines at the bottom to make it look rooted in place.
Tips:
You can tuck small LED lights inside the mouth for a glowing night effect, it makes the plant look like itβs ready to devour anything that dares to come close!
